The difference between “二”and“两”

“二”和“两”都表示“2”，但用法不一样。（Both “二”and“两”mean “2”,but they are used differently.）

“两”：

（1）2+量词            e.g   两本、两个、两件、两家

    “两”can follow with the quantifier

（2）2+百、千、万      e.g   两百、两千、两万

    “两”follow with “百”、“千”and“万”，indicate “two hundred ”、“two thousand”and“twenty thousand”

“二”：

（1）1、2、3           e.g   一、二、三、四、五

    “二”indicate the number

（2）第2、2月、2楼   e.g  第二、二月、二楼

    “二”indicate the “the number two”、“February”and“the second building”

（3）2+十、百          e.g  二十、二百

    “二”follow with “十”and“百”，indicate “twenty”and“two hundred”
